对科学的兴趣和热爱好像一颗种子,最初播种在小学四年级转学的时候。

在那之前,几乎没有接触过关于科学的课程,所以学校的探索课便成了我最喜欢的课程。

后来去了英国留学,英国教育在科学的教学和兴趣挖掘上非常注重,发现科学知识并不停留在课本,是在生活中无处不在。

那颗种子逐渐发芽长大。

The interest and love for science is like a seed, first sown when I transferred in the fourth grade of primary school.

Before that, I had hardly ever been exposed to science lessons, and this new exploration of the nature made science become my favourite subject ever since.

Later, I went to study in the UK, where science teaching and exploration was a key part of education. It was then I found that scientific knowledge is not confined to textbooks, but also ubiquitous in our daily life. 

So the seed gradually sprouted and grew.



我的兴趣从科学逐渐清晰到物理,是16岁那年回上海,遇到母校的老师,聊起了科学和未来学习的发展方向。

正巧那位老师当时在看一本关于物理书’Seven Brief Lessons on Physics’,书中巧妙地链接了最最小的夸克和无限大的宇宙,这个世界竟然如此巧妙的相生相息。

It was the year when I was 16, my interest in science gradually became clear to physics specifically. Then I went back to Shanghai and met the teacher from my old School, where we talked about the development of science and how I might be able to future study it. 

It happened that the teacher was reading 'Seven Brief Lessons on Physics' at the time, a book cleverly linking the smallest quark and the infinite big universe, giving me inspirations on how the world is so cleverly interrelated.

那次在上海也有幸与济群法师交流了佛教对世界认知和佛教中的许多哲学思想,

当时跟着师父的背影散步,想着令人入迷的各种哲学生活态度,让我瞬间感受到了时间和空间的模糊。

At that time in Shanghai, I also had the honour to talk with Master Jiqun about Buddhism's cognition of the world and many philosophical thoughts in Buddhism. After the conversation, thinking about the fascinating philosophy of life, made me instantly feel the ambiguity of time and space.

2017年的西藏之行,也是兴趣的深入点。

途中我了解到了更多藏传佛教中活佛转世和寻找灵童的信息,还有其他关于意识传播的趣事。

如若这些事情真实地发生着,那我认为一定能用科学来解答。然而也是这些想法让我决定继续学习物理,希望能用科学来解答宇宙的奥秘。

在英国期间,我也结识了曾经计算机博士、佛光山的妙隆法师。聊天中发现物理中的多世界诠解和佛教的华严经有许多相似的理论。

值得惊叹的是,一个不到百年的量子理论竟然在近两千年前就被提到。

也因为这个起源,伦敦佛光山后来成立了青少年佛学研究学习小组。

My trip to Tibet in 2017 was also a point that deepened my interest. 

Through the visit, I learned more about the reincarnation of living Buddhas and the search for spiritual children in Tibetan Buddhism, as well as other interesting facts about the spread of consciousness. So the idea of if these things are really happening, then there must be a scientific answer.

However, it was also these ideas that made me decide to continue studying physics, hoping to use science to solve the mysteries of the universe.

In the UK, I also got acquainted with Master Miaolong, who has a PhD in computer science and studied in Foguang Mountain. We found that the multi-world interpretation of physics has many similar theories with the Buddhist Huayan Sutra.

It is amazing that a quantum theory that is less than a century old was mentioned nearly two millennia ago. It is also because of this origin that London's Fo Guang Hill later set up a young Buddhist study group.

2018年,霍金去世后他的家人帮忙出版了他的遗作‘Brief Answers to the Big Questions’ 与他身前出版的许多其他书一样,书中采用了较为易懂和幽默的语言,这让他的书更容易被大众接受,而这也是我非常想学习的。

他的书也促使我分享更多有趣易懂的物理知识,让更多人了解物理,了解我们的宇宙。

我选择天体物理作为自己的大学专业的那一年,刚好诺贝尔物理奖颁发给了 James Peebles,Michel Mayor和Didier Queloz三位教授,以表彰他们“在物理宇宙学的理论发现”和 “一颗围绕类太阳恒星运行的系外行星”的发现。

2020年的诺贝尔物理奖也再次青睐于宇宙学。


In 2018, after Stephen Hawking passed away, his family helped to publish the book ’Brief Answers to the Big Questions’, which, like many of his previous books, was written in easy-to-understand and humorous language, making it more accessible to the general public, something I'm eager to learn from. 

His book also inspired me to share more interesting and understandable knowledge of physics, so that more people can understand physics and understand our universe.

The year I chose astrophysics as my undergraduate major, the Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to James Peebles, Michel Mayor, and Didier Queloz, For "theoretical discoveries in physical cosmology" and for "an exoplanet orbiting a sun-like star."

The 2020 Nobel Prize for Physics is again in favour of cosmology.

站在茫茫的星空之下,望着无限的远处,

如果是画家,恰如梵高的星空,

如果是佛陀,写出了80万字的华严经,

如果是伽利略,发明了望远镜… 

现在是我,看得见的,看不见的,

都是我好奇的,可以无限探知的领域。

Standing under the stars, looking out into the infinite,

If it was Van Gogh, the starry sky is seen,

If it was Buddha, the 800thousand word Avatamsaka Sutra came to life,

If it was Galileo, the telescope was born … 

Now it's me, the visible, the invisible,

Curious about the limitless exploration of the universe.
